After an undefeated season in 2001-2002 the UConn Womens's basketball team graduated four
outstanding senior starters. Diana Taurasi was the only starter left from what has arguably
been called the best women's team ever. It was thought this would be a rebuilding year for UConn.
Some rebuilding Year!
The team stretched it's NCAA record unbeaten streak to 70 before losing to Villanova in
the Big East Tournament Championship game. Perhaps that was the wakeup call they needed.
UConn would not lose again.
Edie, Jerry & Josh went to Atlanta to cheer the team on and at the same time visit with Jackie &
Kevin Marks and Marc & Amy Leftoff. Jackie & Marc are Edie's niece & nephew. The following photos
are from this trip in early April, 2003.
