Wedding of Danny Kirschbaum and Helen Chernikoff

Edie's cousin's (Jerry Kirschbaum) son, Danny married Helen Chernikoff in Maryland on November 11, 2006. We drove down for the weekend & had the opportunity to photograph the tish and ceremony. Ahhh, so what is a tish? At the tish, the nervous groom traditionally attempts to deliver some words about a Torah portion while his friends and family take the pressure off by constantly interrupting him with jokes, toasts, singing, and dancing. Mostly it is toasting, drinking and joking! At the end of the tish, family and friends carry the groom into the bedeken for veiling and continue singing and dancing around the bride. Well in this tish the groom was preceded by a klezmer band and was surrounded by family and friends.
It was a great time with all of Danny & Helen's friends and family making for a truly joyous affair and a fun affair to photograph. The following photographs were taken at the tish and ceremony, both held in B'nai Israel Congregation.
