Photographs (photos) of 4th of July Fireworks Display
Wallingford, Connecticut (CT) July 4, 2003
This is my first attempt at photographing fireworks with a digital camera. Now
that I have the Canon 10D I felt it was time to experiment taking pictures of
various things that I either didn't do well at in the past or have never done.
Shooting fireworks falls somewhere between the two.
In the past I had taken some film shots of fireworks, but always half-heartedly.
After reading some of the posts on the
Canon digital forum I picked up enough info to
give it a real try.
The following shots were taken with the Canon 10D using a 24-70mm lens set at 24mm,
manual focus (slightly less than infinity) and with an aperature setting between f16 and f22.
The camera was tripod mounted and a TC-80N3 remote release was used.
Exposure time varied between 1 & 3 seconds. Sorry for the uninteresting background -
a 'void' isn't very interesting. However from my shooting position there just wasn't
anything there! Anyway it does make it easier to 'clone' a more interesting backround
in to create something nice. Suggestions for improvement are invited.
These shots were all taken in Wallingford, Connecticut on July 4th, 2003.
