Motorcycle trip of 2004

This was my 4th year in a row to attempt to get to motorcycle ride the Going to the Sun Road in Glacier National Park in Montana. Last year I arrived the day they closed the park due to forest fires. The year before Adam & I rode out there but arrived in early June, two weeks before they were able to clear the road of snow and make it passable. In 2001 I was in Deadwood, South Dakota on my way to Glacier National Park on September 11. The next day I was on my way home.

Glacier National Park is located in the northwest corner of Montana and is well over 2000 miles from Connecticut - a very long motorcycle ride. Because I was determined to spend several days hiking and photographing in the park the ride to and from there was all superslab. There are some excellent motorcycle roads around Glacier National Park and I got the opportunity to ride several of them including Montana routes 2, 49, 89 & 93. But let there be no mistake about it - the highlight of this trip was Glacier National Park and Going to the Sun Road. My photographs on the following pages can not start to demonstrate the beauty of this place. I only hope I can give you a glimpse of some of the things I saw there.
