Connecticut (UConn) vs Indiana University Basketball
Hartford Civic Center December 4, 2004

The University of Connecticut (UConn) men's basketball team didn't make it easy for their coach Jim Calhoun. Coaching in his 600th game at Connecticut Calhoun had to endure his Huskies come from a 13 point deficit in the second half to finally overcome Indiana University. The win brings Calhoun's record at UConn to 435-165, a 72.5 winning percentage. Cold shooting in the first half allowed Indiana to take a 5 point lead over Connecticut into the locker room. In the opening minutes of the second half Indiana continued to widen the spread until the 13th minute mark. With only 13 minutes left UConn was down by 13 to the Hoosiers. At that point freshman reserve guard Antonio Kellogg entered the game. Kellogg immediately nailed a 3 pointer and followed it up by a nifty steal and a coast to coast layup that had the Civic Center crowd going wild. Connecticut quickly closed the gap and with 8 minutes left on the clock Rudy Gay's basket put the Huskies up for good.
Indiana's Bracey Wright led all scorers with 28 and had some help from Vaden (13 points) and Strickland (10 points). Rashid Anderson led UConn scorers with 17. Rudy Gay contributed 11 in a very solid effort. Connecticut's scoring attack included Brown (13 points) and Boone (12 points). The final score was 74-69. The photographs that follow were taken from ours seats and try to depict the action of the game - at least from one end of the court.
