Connecticut (UConn) Huskies vs Villanova Wildcats
Women's Basketball - A Photo Story
Gampel Pavilion January 15, 2005
The University of Connecticut Women's Basketball Team pushed their season's record to 10-4
Saturday night when they defeated the Villanova Wildcats 73 to 57 in front of another sold
out Gampel Pavilion crowd in Storrs. The Husky women were led by freshman Charde Houston who
recorded her third straight game with double-digit points, scoring a career-high 20. Palmer, Alaska
native Jessica Moore added 19 to a strong team effort. After a ragged start - the UConn Women
did not score a field goal in the first three minutes - the Huskies opened a 14 to 7 lead before
a determined Villanova team poured in 11 points to Connecticut's 2 to gain a two point advantage
18 to 16. Uconn led at the break 34 to 28, although the game was closer than the halftime score
would indicate. In the second half it was pretty much UConn working their will on Villanova. Jackie
Adamshick led the Wildcats with 17 points.
The following photographs were shot from our seats - very far from the court! I hope they give you
some feel for the game.
All photos were shot using a Canon 1D MKII with a 300mm f2.8 IS lens.
